Around 45 species of nettle can be found in Europe. The quality of the soil as well as the type of nettle are important factors in cultivation. Depending on the type of nettle, it can grow between 10 and 250 cm. Many species of butterflies use it for food while they are still caterpillars.
People use mainly young shoots and use them, depending on their age and freshness, for salads, pies, soups, boiled, or for the production of delicious cheese.
