Birch sugar
Xilitol
This sugar, also known as "xylitol", is obtained from the sap that circulates within the birch tree itself. It does not contain any additives, and no additives such as ash from animal bones were used during production.
Comparing it to other sugars, xylitol contains only half the calories and is the only sugar that does not cause tooth decay and gum disease, which explains the fact that it is a component of better toothpastes and mouthwashes.
Given that this sugar is a pure carbohydrate, it is absorbed very slowly and prevents sudden rises and falls in blood sugar, which is especially felt by diabetics, hyperglycemics, or anyone who has health problems related to blood sugar levels.
Use it as you would regular sugar. One teaspoon (4 g) has approximately 9,6 kcal, while 200 g has 480 kcal.
If consumed alone, this sugar causes a cooling sensation in the mouth.
