Cayenne pepper is a thin oblong pepper of green or red color, 6-15 cm long.
In our region, it is known in ground form. Cayenne pepper is one of the most popular peppers in the Western Hemisphere, and it got its name from the city of Cayenne in French Guiana, where it originates.

PURCHASE AND STORAGE
Cayenne pepper can also be used fresh, but it is a bit harder to find fresh outside of the areas where it grows. Store dried and powdered in a closed and dry place.
USE IN COOKING
Cayenne pepper is usually used as a dry spice obtained by drying and grinding peppers or from pulp that is baked as a cake and later ground to obtain the final product - cayenne pepper.
It is used for seasoning various egg dishes (stuffed eggs, omelettes, soufflés), for seafood and fish, as well as meat dishes, stews. It can also be used for hot sauces and curries, as well as cheeses.
In Mexican cuisine, it is used in enchiladas, meat sauces and dips, and it has become popular all over the world so that it is used from Mediterranean to Asian cuisine.
