Za'atar (Zahtar) - tin 25g
INGREDIENTS: sesame, sumac, thyme, oregano, seasalt
ALLERGENS: nuts, celery and celery products, mustard and mustard products, sesame seeds and sesame seed products, peanuts and peanut products.
Za'atar is a very popular Middle Eastern spice blend mainly used in Syrian, Armenian, and Turkish cuisine.
It's excellent when rubbed on freshly baked bread like flatbread or traditional pita bread. You can also sprinkle Za'atar on sandwiches, roasted dishes, or potato salads.
Feel free to experiment because it pairs well with many dishes, and sumac, along with salt, enhances the flavors of the ingredients.
Keep in mind that Za'atar has a richer flavor when sprinkled on bread before baking because the toasted sesame seeds greatly enrich its taste.
Recommendation: To make a tasty dip, mix two teaspoons of Harissa Za'atar with 250g of yogurt or sour cream, add a generous pinch of chopped fresh parsley, cilantro, or chives, and salt and pepper to taste. If you like, finish by stirring in a spoonful of olive oil.
GOOD FOR rice dishes, soups, sauces, salads, roast dishes, roasted potatoes, bread.
