No artificial colors or chemicals were used in the production - it's a natural product in every sense of the word.
Skeppshult cast iron products conduct and store heat evenly and efficiently. This makes Skeppshult cast iron ideal for frying. Seasoned dishes acquire a genuine tan on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. Due to its high heat retention capacity, cast iron pans are also ideal for serving at the table.
In the production of cast iron at the Skeppshult foundry, no colors or other chemicals are used. When frying with fat, a thin natural layer forms on the surface of the cast iron, preventing food from sticking to the wok - a natural "non-stick" property, while also creating a beautiful black patina. The appealing appearance and "non-stick" properties are also enhanced by the fact that Skeppshult treats its products with natural rapeseed oil, so they are partially "seasoned" at the time of purchase and can be used immediately. Before the first use, the manufacturer recommends a brief rinse with hot water to remove any dust.
Skeppshult cookware is made of approximately 5 mm thick cast iron, which retains heat for a long time and distributes it evenly. They are safe for use on glass-ceramic stoves, partly because cast iron is a softer material than glass or ceramic.
Note: Since Skeppshult products are handmade, minor deviations in size and final finish are possible.
