Products made of cast iron by Skeppshult conduct and store heat evenly and well. This makes Skeppshult cast iron ideal for baking. Seasoned dishes get a nice color on the outside and remain juicy on the inside. Due to their high heat storage capacity, cast iron pans are also ideal for serving at the table.

No artificial colors or other chemicals are used in the production of cast iron at the Skeppshult foundry. When cooking with fat, a thin natural layer forms on the surface of the cast iron, preventing food from sticking to the pan - a natural "non-stick" effect, while also creating a beautiful black patina. Skeppshult enhances the appearance and "non-stick" properties of its products by treating them with natural rapeseed oil, making them partially "seasoned" already at the time of purchase and ready for immediate use. Before the first use, the manufacturer recommends a brief rinse with hot water to remove any dust.

Skeppshult cookware is made of cast iron approximately 6 mm thick, which retains heat for a long time and distributes it evenly. They are safe for use on glass-ceramic stoves, in part because cast iron is a softer material than glass or ceramic.
